Why it exists

Mission

Wrestling games should be played, not paid for. And they shouldn't be replaced every year.

Why Eternal Wrestling exists

Wrestling games got stuck in a loop: a new version every year, a new price tag, and the best content behind a paywall. Eternal Wrestling is the game I want to play instead. It’s an independent, full 3D wrestling sim, built in public, that puts gameplay first.

What I believe

  • Gameplay over license. A deep, fair match engine and a strong creation suite matter more than a famous roster. I’m building and testing the engine before a single 3D model exists, so the matches feel right from the start.
  • Every unlock earned, never bought. Attires, entrance themes, moves and modes are all earned by playing. No microtransactions, no paid unlocks, no loot boxes.
  • One game that keeps growing. There’s no yearly re-release. New wrestlers, moves, match types and stories arrive as updates to the same game, so nothing you’ve earned gets left behind.
  • Nostalgia is a feature. Arcade mode recreates how wrestling games felt in past console generations.
  • Every playthrough is different. Career mode branches on your choices, so two runs with the same wrestler can end in very different places.

How updates are paid for

A game that keeps growing needs a way to pay for that growth, and it shouldn’t come from selling unlocks. So here’s the plan:

  • Buy the game once and keep everything in it, including every mode except online play.
  • An optional content subscription gets you new wrestlers, moves, match types and stories the day they come out. After a few months, that content joins the base game for everyone, subscriber or not.
  • An optional online subscription pays for the servers that run online play.
  • Cancel anytime and keep everything you had access to while subscribed.

Subscribers get new content sooner. Everyone gets it eventually, and nobody pays to keep what they have.

Built in public

Eternal Wrestling is in development, and I share every step here and on social media: the match engine, the menus, and the decisions behind them. Follow the devlog, and sign up to hear when the Kickstarter launches.
